Laureates Interzum Award 2013

Design as an engine of innovation: award ceremony for the “Interzum Awards: Intelligent Material & Design 2013” held on May 12, 2013 saw 51 best  designs in the international supplier industry for furniture and interior decor, get their place in the sun.

Every two years, Koelnmesse collaborates with Red Dot to host the “interzum awards: intelligent material & design”. On 12 May 2013, the proud prize winners were given their awards on the occasion of the start of the leading global trade fair - Interzum Cologne.

Around 500 manufacturers, designers and marketing decision-makers converged at the Koelnmesse site to celebrate the high point of this year’s competition together at the interzum party, where a total of 200 entries from 16 countries were submitted in 2013. From materials and surfaces to fittings, glass and lighting to upholstery manufacture and bedding, there was great demand for innovative designs for the furniture industry and interior decorating. The jury, comprising five renowned design experts, awarded the best 51 entries.

Winner High Product Quality 2013

These success stories were duly celebrated at the award ceremony on the evening of 12 May 2013 in the Theater am Tanzbrunnen in Cologne, Germany. The jury awarded the title “High Product Quality” for special design achievements in terms of form and function. Only 42 products were able to win over the experts with their excellent design and thus succeeded in standing out from comparable products.

Only nine products won the “Best-of-the-Best” title. This award is given by the panel of experts to products that set new standards in their industry with their exceptional and groundbreaking design in terms of form and function.
