The
uber modern elevations of this modern-day Spanish villa showcase timeless
design born out of enviable workmanship and meticulous detailing.
This
three-storey, single-family dwelling in Seville, Spain, is designed by Studio A-cero’s
architects JoaquĆn Torres and Rafael Llamazares and is complete with a utility
oriented basement, sprawling ground and first floors and a chilled-out terrace;
not to mention a beautifully carved atrium that constitutes an integral connect.
A
bold architectural language flaunted by strong orthogonal axes in the
elevations extends into the interiors, enhancing this 8000 sq. ft. home. The orthogonal
elevations exude a confident, extroverted statement that is cleverly sustained in
the landscaping and the interiors down to some furniture pieces and in smaller
details viz., the basic composition and arrangement of furniture, the framed
views, play of voids and the like. Soft touches are introduced through a few
curvy pieces of furniture and the vibrancy of the abstract art.
The
natural material palette and choice of colours sets the design apart. The
combination of Travertine marble with unconventional black glass windows stands out against the lush green landscape and clear blue swimming
pool. The
white lacquered walls merge seamlessly with the marble flooring creating an
overall uniform envelope, which is broken only by tasteful furniture and choice works
of art.
The
contemporarily styled spaces are generally left uncluttered augmenting the
spacious feel. Decor in largely neutral tones is carefully balanced with a
discerning touch of traditional choices that not only heighten the aesthetics, but
also allude to the spectrum of the designers’ thought process in acknowledging
the continuous growth of a home.

It is a design that can
absorb myriad influences – exactly what a home should be – richly verdant
supporting growth in a timeless appeal.
