designs full-of-life interiors for Schouw Informatisering, a workspace
marked by distinct planning and lively colours and textures…
Schouw Informatisering
is an IT partner for food companies hosting a range of ERP services and is
housed in a recently-completed office building by Bedaux de Brouwer Architects.
The international organization is the workspace of over 150 employees with a
passion of food and IT.
One is immediately
struck by the immaculate planning of the 2500 sq. m. work floors; even as one
enters the building, welcomed by a sparsely furnished space, open and inviting
with an atrium connecting it to the upper floor. The requirement of several
meeting spaces, presentation rooms and workspaces, for training courses and
trainee programs, are realized in an open office environment. These spaces take
form around a central hub on each office floor, which embodies a coffee bar,
pantry, printing room, an office restaurant that also doubles as a meeting
space and other interaction spaces. The planning adept in creating an
environment for growth, fresh and professional, encourages engagement and
social interaction.
The stark white
workspaces come to life with colours of nature. Shades of green and blue are
incorporated in interesting and bold flooring patterns, which match the office
furniture, acoustic wall panels and dividers. The fluidity of blues and
nurturing quality of greens contrasted against subtle neutral tones of greys,
blacks and whites offer a fascinating language and also mark distinct
workspaces.
Textures add another
layer of liveliness to the stark metal climate of ceiling and walls covered in
whiteboard panels. Large and colourful photographs offering aerial views of
agricultural fields referencing the food industry are printed on soft acoustic walls
become space dividers.
Large plant walls, a
total of nine, composed of thousands of plants are spread throughout the office
adding a dimension of vitality and vigour to each space. Also, providing oxygen
and humidity, improving air quality and acoustics.
The office space, a
paradigm of sustainability also oversees the well being of its users, offering
maximum comfort, optimum lighting and climate control. Schouw Informatisering
intuitively becomes a reference to health, freshness and nature.
