Ana and Christoph of studio Masquespacio recreate the intimacy and panache typical of the warmth and subtle luxury of everything Valencian in this eatery…
Piur is a restaurant chain from Valencia specialising in pizzas. In keeping with the estab-lished brand strategy that epitomises honesty and the concept of fresh produce, the de-signers choose to underplay the ambience, having romance and aesthetics play the inte-gral showstoppers.
Groomed to welcome both - cosy twosomes and large groups, elements from the Valen-cian origins of Piur’s founders constitutes the main attraction as the restaurant pays homage to the Central Market - Valencia’s most relevant examples of Art Nouveau.

Emblematic ornaments from the Central Market’s façade take the form of a wide variety of lights that create personalised corners and give the diners the opportunity to live a new experience every time they visit Piur; from a romantic dinner for two to a relaxed lunch with the whole family.
Wood and terracotta tiles reference an earthy palette with a leaning towards red – sym-bolic of the tomato – the prime ingredient of the pizza! An open industrial-style ceiling with open wired light fittings creates raw appeal that complements the understated charm; and a focal centralised bar adds to the allure of the place.

What stands out is the space planning that facilitates different kinds of seating ar-rangements – each fashioned to ensure privacy. This fosters camaraderie and keeps the diner coming back to a new experience each time.
